Ultimate crochet basket base

Tutorial: Ultimate crochet basket base tutorial

This is the way I make the round basket base. To save time, I will be referring to this in my other tutorials.

I strongly recommend watching this video (few times 😀) before attempting to making it, so it makes sense. I don't use stitch markers in this video but if you are a beginner, I recommend marking the last stitch of each row (the loop on the hook) to know where the row connection is.

In the last few seconds of this video, I point to where double stitches will be in the following row should you need to make it. The principle stays the same and you can make endless amount of rows this way 😀

This pattern can be used for making simple coasters and placemats ( you can use 3mm braided cord and 5mm crochet hook for that). Once finished, your coaster/ placemat needs some gentle ironing (through a damp cloth).

Materials: Lovely Cottons 5mm braided cotton cord, 7mm crochet hook, scissors. For weaving in yarn ends, smaller size crochet hook is recommended.
Pattern: stockinette
Stitches/techniques: magic ring, double crochet (US single crochet), slip stitch.
